போப்பாண்டவர் XVI பெனடிக்ட் இன்று ஒரு கூப்பாடு போட்டுக் கூவியுள்ளார். என்னவென்றால் கிறிஸ்தவத்தின் மீதான நம்பிக்கை கிறிஸ்தவர்களுக்கே குறைந்து வருகிறதாம். அதற்குக் காரணம் என்னவென்றும் அந்த அப்பாட்டக்கர் கண்டு பிடித்துவிட்டார். மதச்சார்பின்மையைக் கடைபிடிக்கும் நாடுகள் தான் கிறிஸ்தவத்தின் இந்த வீழ்ச்சிக்குக் காரணமாம்! அதுவும் கிறிஸ்தவ மதத்தை வேராகக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நாடுகள் பலவும் தற்போது தமது பண்பாடு நம்பிக்கை இத்யாதிகளைத் துறந்து மதச்சார்பின்மை எனும் லுச்சாத்தனத்தால் பீடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனவாம்!
புனித வியாழன் தினத்தில் யாரோ பன்னிரண்டு பேரின் காலைக் கழுவிக் காயவைக்கும் சடங்கு ஒன்று நடந்திருக்கிறது! போப்பாண்டவர் அதில் கலந்து, கழுவிக் காயவும் வைத்து விழாவைச் சிறப்பித்திருக்கிறார். வருசா வருசம் இதெல்லாம் நடக்கறதுதான் ஆனால் இந்தவாட்டி நாக்குக்கு நடுவுல அரிப்பெடுத்துருக்கும் போல, அண்ணாத்த சும்மா வடிவேலு கணக்கா ஒளறித் தள்ளிப்புட்டார்!
வரும் மே ஒண்ணாம் தேதி மறைந்த போப்பாண்டவர்களை நினைவுகூரும் தினமாம்! அதுக்கு 3 லட்சம் கத்தோலிக்கர்கள் ரோமில் கூடுவார்கள் எனக் கருதப்படுவதால் கிறிஸ்தவத்தை மீட்டெடுக்க அன்றைய தினம் அடிக்கல் நாட்ட உள்ளாராம்!
இந்த சந்து கேப்புல ஆண்டவர் ஐய்யா உலகம் ஃபுல்லா இருக்குற பாதிரிகள் ஆங்காங்கே குழந்தைகளிடமும் பெண்களிடமும் பாலியல் சீண்டலில் ஈடுபட்டு செருப்படி வாங்குவதும், இதனால் மானம் கோவணமாய் பறப்பதும் அதை மறக்கடிக்கவும் சபையின் பெருமையை மீட்டெடுக்கவும் தாம் பிரயத்தனப் படுவதாகத் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்!
அமெரிக்கா போன்ற கிறிஸ்தவ வேர் கொண்ட (வல்லரசு அல்லது பெரிய )நாடுகள் மதச்சார்பின்மையைத் துறக்க வேண்டுமாம்! ஐரோப்பிய கிறிஸ்தவ நாடுகளை மத அடிப்படையில் பலப்படுத்த வேண்டுமாம்! மதச்சார்பற்ற பெரிய நாடுகள் கிறிஸ்தவ நாடுகளா மாறிட்டாலே தொங்கிக் கெடக்கும் சர்ச்சின் பெருமை தொன்ணூறு டிகிரில தூக்கிட்டு நிக்க ஆரமிச்சுடுமாம்!
மதச்சார்பின்மை என்பது ஒரு கிறுக்குத் தனம் எனவும் கண்டிப்பாக ஒவ்வொரு நாடும் ஏதாவது ஒரு மதத்தைப் பின்பற்றுவது அவசியம் என்பதும் போப்பாண்டவர் கூவலின் சாரம்!

அவர் இப்படித்தான் சொல்வார்.அரசியல் சக்தி இழந்த மதம் ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாது.மதம் என்பது அரசியல் அதிகாரத்தை அடையும் ஒரு முயற்சியே. ஒரு நாட்டின் மீதாவது சிலுவைப் போர் தொடுக்க முடிகிறதா!!!.ஏதாவது தடை உத்தரவு,கட்டுப்பாடு விதிக்க முடிகிறதா!!.என்ன அவர் கொஞ்சம் வெளிப்ப்டையாக புலம்பி விட்டார் பழைய நினைப்புடா பேராண்டி என்று.
இதனை மதவாதிகள் நன்றாக உணர்ந்தே இருக்கிறார்கள். ஒவ்வொரு மதவாதியும் தான் சிறுபான்மையினராக் இருக்கும் வரையில் வாழும் நாடு மத சார்பற்றதாக ,தன்னிடம் பாரபட்சம் காட்டாத சட்டம் வேண்டுமென்பதும்,த்ன் மதம் பெரும்பான்மையாக இருக்கும் போது தன் மதம் சார்ந்த சட்டங்களை எல்லோர் மீதும் அமல் படுத்த வேண்டுமென்பதும் மிக இயல்பான விஷயம். தன் மதம் சார்ந்த சட்டம் அப்போது பாரபட்ட்சம் என்றால் அது கூட நியாயப் படுத்தப் படும்.
இவர்களை கொஞ்சம் கவனித்து அவ்வபோது தட்டி வைக்க வேண்டும்.

அருமையான பதிவு சகோ. மதச்சார்பின்மையால் மதவெறி தான் குறையும், மத நம்பிக்கை குறையாது, மத நம்பிக்கை குறைகிறது என்றால் - மத நம்பிக்கை என்ற பெயரினால் மத வெறியைத் தான் ஊட்டி இருக்கின்றார்கள். மற்றொரு தகவல் வளரும் நாடுகளில் கிருத்தவம் வளர்ந்துவருகின்றது என்ற புள்ளிவிவரம்.
மதங்கள் என்பது மனிதனின் தேவைக்காகத் தான். என்று அது அவசியமற்றுப் போகின்றது மதங்களும் இல்லாமல் போய்விடும். பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சி, சமூகப் பாதுகாப்பு இருக்கும் நாடுகளில் மதங்களின் தேவை இருக்காது என்பதை அண்மைய புள்ளிவிவரம் ஒன்று நிருபித்துவிட்டது.

You say every year he makes such remarks. I did not find you blogging on his speech any previous year.
The position of a Pope is to be concerned about the questions: how best to propagate the religion among the people and how best to retain it with the people who are already Catholics.
Pope Benedict's concern in this year speech is on the decline of interest in catholic religion in those countries which are traditionally catholic. He traces the decline in the state policy of such states namely, changing the state into secular state.
Secularism allows all religions while not encouraging any one particular religion.
But I think this secular policy of giving freedom to the citizens to choose their own religion among a plethora of religions, is what concerns the Pope.
He is correct. His concern is genuine. Because, those countries which have the policy of One country-One religion, have succeeded in retaining their religion compact and intact for millennia. For e.g the Gulf countries and other Islamist republics. They don’t allow any other religion to enter their countries by framing suitable policies to prevent other religions, which all of us must accept as they are sovereign countries.
In European countries like France and Italy which are traditionally Catholics, in ancient times, the aforesaid policy was followed. Now, it is not. The result is that other religious persons; mostly the Muslims from Algeria and other Northern African countries, have inflitrated the population and begun insisting on their right to follow their religion in open society, for e.g. the wearing of niqab. Hence, Francce has become concerned imposing a ban.
The Pope is duty bound to request catholic countries to go back to their ancient policy of non secularism in order to save the religion in their countries.
In UK, more than 1000 churches have been closed down and turned for use of other secular purposes. The attendance in churches, in particular, of youth has dwindled alarmingly. The Muslim population has increased manifold. The Hindus have entered in all fields there; and fighting for their right to cremate their dead, which is objected to on the grounds it causes air pollution, and for the right to burst crackers on Diwali day which is objected to on the grounds it causes both air and noise pollution. But the UK government is unable to control these Muslims and Hindus because they have tied themselves up in knots of the policy of secularism.
In India, the Hindutva people are doing their best to drive away other religions from the country so that they can bring back the ancient brand of Vedic Hinduism. Secularism is a stumbling block on their way, they say.
From his stand point and from the stand point of all Catholics worldwide, the Pope Benedict is justified in raising the alarm which you have made fun of.
